What are the Benefits of Youth Hockey Shoulder Pads?
The main benefit of youth hockey shoulder pads is that they protect your body from injury during games. You will not get hurt if you do not fall down or get hit by a puck. The other advantage is that these shoulder pads can provide better protection against concussions and other head injuries.
You may think that it is too expensive to buy a new hockey jersey every year. However, the cost of buying a new helmet and playing with a different brand of shoulder pads each season can add up quickly. If you want to stay safe while playing ice hockey, then you need to make sure that your favorite team has quality shoulder pads. You can choose from several brands like Bauer, CCM, CCCM, CCM Elite and many others.
Bauer Youth Supreme 150 Shoulder Pad Review:
There are many reasons why you should choose Bauer. First of all, they have been around since 1892 and their products are still manufactured in Germany. They have a wide range of sizes and styles available so that you can find the one that fits you best. Their product is made out of high-quality materials such as polyester, nylon, spandex and more.
It also has high-density foam protection and other features that will help you stay safe while playing your favorite sport.
Pure Hockey Youth Shoulder Pad Review:
These shoulder pads are also made by a reputable company that has been around since 1983. Pure Hockey makes their equipment out of the best materials such as injection molded PE foam, PE board, and high-density injected plastic. These materials are lightweight but they also provide the protection you need.
CCM Youth Super Tacks Shoulder Pad:
These shoulder pads are also made by a highly reputable company that has been around since 1914. Like the other two companies we spoke about, they also produce top of the line equipment such as helmets, gloves and shoulder pads. Their equipment is made out of high-density foams and injected molded shells to provide all the protection you need.
How we Picked
Before choosing the best shoulder pads for youth ice hockey, we made a list of the most important qualities. They should provide a high level of protection while staying lightweight at the same time. They should remain comfortable even while wearing them for several hours. It would also be beneficial if they had moisture wicking fabric to help keep the player dry.
This is especially useful when playing on an outdoor rink because it helps prevent the equipment from freezing.
What we Skipped
There are some youth shoulder pads that are very expensive. While it is nice to buy the most expensive equipment, it is not always necessary. You can still get good protection from a cheaper brand of shoulder pads. We did not choose any shoulder pads that were very low in price because they probably are not high quality.
It might seem like a good idea to buy the least expensive gear you can find, but remember you get what you pay for.
How we Selected
After creating the initial list of shoulder pads that met our criteria, we went down the list and researched them. We looked at what other customers had to say about the product and also read the reviews on websites like Amazon. This helped us get an idea of how we felt about each brand and eliminated any that we didn’t feel were worthy of making the final list.
We also took into account how long each brand has been in business. There is no point in buying equipment from a company that might not even be in existence in a few years to replace your shoulder pads when they wear out. We made sure to choose only the most stable and reliable companies so you can be confident in your purchase.
Out of all the shoulder pads we looked at, our favorite is the Bauer Reactor 6000 Goalie Pad. This model offers great protection while also being very lightweight. The ventilated chassis keeps you cool while you play and the moisture management fabric wicks away moisture to keep you dry. We really like the fact that these pads offer multi-density foam protection.
This allows for maximum protection in the high-impact areas such as the chest and thighs while keeping the rest of the pad a little more flexible. These pads are also very comfortable to wear and do not get stinky after hours of use.
When buying ice hockey equipment it can be a little more expensive than playing other sports. There are more pieces of specialized equipment that you need in order to play and some of it can get very expensive. Not everyone has the money to be purchasing the most expensive models especially if you have multiple kids that play hockey. The good news is that there are still some great shoulder pads out there that won’t break the bank.
Our favorite cost-effective shoulder pads are the Warrior Krown Rookie Goalie Pads. These pads offer great protection without all the extra bells and whistles of some of the more expensive models. They are lightweight so you won’t get fatigued sitting in the goal and have great impact protection.
