Wet Suit Pants are a type of clothing worn by women during swimming activities. They come in various colors and patterns. Womens wet suit pants are available in different sizes, from small to extra large. There are two types of wetsuit pants:
1) full-length and 2) half-length.
A full-length wetsuit pant is one that covers all the body except the legs; it may or may not have sleeves (see Figure 1). Full-length wetsuit pants are generally worn over regular clothes. Half-length wetsuit pants cover only the legs, but they do not have sleeves.
Both types of wetsuit pants are usually made of nylon or spandex fabric.
Figure 1: Worn under clothing, full-length wetsuit pants provide complete coverage for the body except the legs.
2) Wearing a pair of wetsuit leggings provides additional protection against water splashes.
These leggings are designed to protect the legs while allowing the wearer to move freely through the water. Womens wetsuit leggings come in many styles and colors, including black, blue, brown, green, pink, purple and white. They may be patterned or solid in color.
Like other types of wetsuit pants, they are usually made of spandex or nylon.
Wetsuit leggings provide the same protection as full-length wetsuit pants. They are designed for women who prefer a lower leg covering that comes up to or just below the knee (see Figure 2). Wetsuit leggings come in both short and long lengths.
They can be worn throughout the year and are especially popular for watersports in the summertime. Some women wear them as a fashion statement, similar to the way people wear socks with their sandals.
3) A wetsuit vest is a sleeveless garment that provides upper body warmth.
Womens wetsuit vests are typically worn underneath another layer of clothing (see Figure 3). They can be worn in or out of water. They are popular among women who swim and water ski.
Wetsuit vests are usually made of spandex, nylon or neoprene.
4) A wetsuit hood is a head covering that provides warmth for the head and ears (see Figure 4).
It covers only the top of the head, but does provide some ear protection. The hood is typically attached to the rest of the garment, but some types can be purchased separately. Wetsuit hoods are usually made of spandex, nylon or neoprene.
Wetsuit hoods are available in many different colors and patterns. They are popular among women who engage in watersports in cold weather. They can be worn alone or underneath another layer of clothing.
They are usually worn by themselves for warmth and not for water protection. Contrary to popular belief, wetsuit hoods will not make you sink if you fall into the water!
Wetsuit pants use neoprene to provide the best resistance against water. The material provides a flotation effect that can be felt once worn.
While in the water, the wetsuit should not restrict your movement and flexibility. The material of the wetsuit should be thick enough to keep you warm, but thin enough so that it does not restrict your movements.
Wetsuits are typically classified into three levels:
Wetsuit thickness is measured in millimeters (mm). The higher the number, the more protection the wetsuit provides against the cold. Wetsuits fall into three general thickness categories:
Most watersports shops offer free consultations for wetsuit selection and fitting. The professionals in these shops can help you decide which type and thickness of wetsuit is right for your needs. They can also help you to try on different types and thicknesses of wetsuits until you find the one that fits you best.
While wetsuits can be quite expensive, they last much longer than regular swimsuits. Most rental shops require you to wear a wetsuit, so buying your own may save you money in the long run.
