VIZIOS is one of the most popular brand name of televisions. They are known for their high quality products and they have been around since 2007. Their first product was called “Vizio” which stands for “Vision”. At present, VIZIOS manufactures various types of televisions such as HDTVs, DLP projectors, LED LCD TVs etc. They are known for their affordable prices.

The Vizio brand is based on three main products:

1) The VIZIO Smart TV – A television with built-in Internet connection, voice recognition, and other features.

These televisions are available in several sizes and price ranges. The VIZIO Smart TV comes in two models; the top model is priced at $500 while the bottom model costs only $300.

2) The VIZIO Smart Bar – A bar that connects to your home network and allows you to control many multimedia devices from anywhere in the house.

You can watch movies, play games, listen to music or do other things without having to go out of the room.

3) The VIZIO Home Theater System (HTS) – A set of speakers that connect directly into your TV via HDMI cable.

The HTS comes in 5.1, 7.1 and 11.1 configurations that support up to eleven speakers, including a sub-woofer and a center speaker.

The VIZIOS Smart TVs are internet-connected and have built-in Wi-Fi. The bar lets you browse the web, check emails, chat with people, play games, watch TV shows and even order pizza (via an app on your phone). This feature is known as “Smart Interactivity”.

The HTS takes the sound from the Smart TV and makes the speakers work in sync. The sound quality is really awesome and watching movies or playing games becomes an out of the world experience.

Quick Tips for Buying a New TV

If you are thinking about buying a new VIZIO Smart TV, there are a few things you should keep in mind before making your final choice. If you already have a Smart TV and you are satisfied with its features, then there is no need to upgrade. However, if you find that your TV is lacking some of the latest features, then you might want to get a new one. In that case, here are some tips for buying a new Smart TV:

1) Buy a Smart TV only if you need one:

It sounds obvious, but many people buy a Smart TV even if they don’t need it. If you are happy with your current TV, there is no real need to buy a new one.

2) Brand matters:

Just like with any other electronic goods, in the world of Smart TVs, brand matters. Some brands are just better than the others. There are some obscure brands that are unknown in the West, but those are only sold in their local markets. Some of the famous brands include: Samsung, Panasonic, LG, Sony, Sharp, etc.

What’s the brand reputation?

Although all the brands mentioned above are reputed to make excellent televisions, some of them are better than the others. If you want to buy a TV from a top company, research its reputation before buying it.

4) Check the connections:

These days, you can find TVs that come with just about every possible connection. However, only a few of them will be useful for you. For example, if you have an old DVD player, you probably don’t need a HDMI connection. Make sure the connections your devices have are supported by your new TV.

5) Screen size:

Screen size is directly related to price. Keep in mind that bigger screens also mean bigger electric bills! If you are buying a Smart TV mainly for gaming or movies, then it is best to buy a big screen. However, if you are planning to use it for watching the news and sports, then a smaller screen will do.

6) Don’t fall for the Smart TV marketing trick:

If you buy a normal TV, it will come with a standard remote that will let you change channels, adjust volume, etc. A Smart TV will come with a strange device called a “Remote-control”. Although some people assume that the “Remote-control” is similar to a normal remote, it isn’t. The “Remote-control” is a small computer that has more in common with a cellphone than it has with a remote. Rather than changing channels for you, it acts as a mouse and it is designed to be used with an on-screen keyboard to enable you to surf the web, watch videos online, play games and much more.

This brings us to our next tip…

7) Think about how you will use the TV:

Like we said earlier, a Smart TV is like a PC. If you are planning to use it mostly for entertainment such as gaming and watching videos, then there is no need to buy a Smart TV. Instead of buying one, you will be better off buying a gaming console or a Blu-ray player.

However, if you are buying it for other reasons such as surfing the web, watching online content, social networking or checking your emails, then a Smart TV is what you need.

8) Don’t pay extra for 3D:

If you watch movies at a theater, then this tip is not for you. However, if you watch movies at home, you don’t need to pay extra for a 3D TV. It is true that the latest movies are released in 3D, but it is not true that you need a 3D TV to watch them. In fact, even most 3D TVs can’t play all the 3D formats that are available.

Basically, you need to buy special 3D glasses in addition to the 3D TV. If you have multiple family members, then those glasses can cost a small fortune. A 3D TV and a bunch of 3D glasses for the whole family can cost plenty of money.

So, do you really need to spend money on a 3D TV?

Only if you need to watch movies in 3D or if you have some other reason to do so.

9) Check the audio quality:

Some manufacturers brag about the built-in sound technology in their TVs. Although having great audio quality is a good thing, it isn’t a top priority for most people. After all, even if your TV has excellent audio quality, you will still need to connect it to some sort of speaker system or sound bar.

Nowadays, most people use either a 5.1 speaker system or a sound bar. If you are one of them, then make sure that your TV can support your speaker system or sound bar.

Also, do not pay extra for a “3D surround sound” feature. Although 3D technology has improved drastically over the years, it still doesn’t compare to the experience provided by an actual 3D movie in a theater.
