The best thin bezel monitor 144hz monitors are made with high quality materials such as aluminum, plastic, glass and metal. They have a slim design and they don’t block your peripheral vision. They feature a wide viewing angle which means you will not get tired even if you work from far away from the screen. You can watch movies or play games without any issues. These monitors are very easy to set up and use since they come with all the necessary cables. Some of them have built-in speakers so you can enjoy music while watching videos or playing games.
There are many different types of these monitors but most of them are similar in their features and specifications. Most of them have a resolution of 1440×900 pixels and they offer 60 Hz refresh rate.
There are some models with resolutions of 2560×1440 pixels and 30 Hz refresh rates.
What’s The Difference Between UltraWide & WideScreen?
UltraWide monitors are usually wider than regular 24″ displays, however, it doesn’t mean that they will look blurry when viewed at normal distance. The best thin bezel monitors that are considered under the ultra wide display category usually provide a viewing experience that’s more immersive and better than that of normal wide screen monitors because they will “fill out” your field of view.
On the other hand, wide screen monitors provide an experience similar to that of watching a movie in theater. These models usually have a 16:9 aspect ratio and provide great viewing angles.
Due to the different type of panel technology that is implemented, ultra wide monitors usually have a higher response time which means that they can handle faster onscreen motion. Wide screen monitors on the other hand usually have a better resolution.
Most of today’s gaming monitors are considered as ultra wide displays since they offer a much more immersive experience when compared to their 16:9 cousins.
What To Look For When Buying A New Monitor?
When shopping for a new monitor, you will notice that most of them have different specifications. While this can be quite overwhelming for some, it is important to know what these specifications mean and which ones are more important than the others. Below are some of the most important factors that you should consider before buying a new display device.
1. Aspect Ratio & Resolution: These two factors are closely related to each other.
Aspect ratio is the measurement between the width and the height of your monitor. If you are using a standard resolution, then 1:1 is equal to one pixel to one screen.
Most of today’s monitors usually have a 16:9 aspect ratio which is also known as widescreen and this is what you see on most modern TVs. Traditional tube monitors usually have a 4:3 or 5:4 aspect ratio.
When looking for a new display, you will notice that monitors come in different resolutions. The most common one that you will find in most monitors is 1920 x 1080.
This type of resolution is known as Full HD and it has become the standard for Blu-ray discs and most modern video games. There are some monitors that also support much higher resolutions such as 3840 x 2160 which is also known as 4K resolution or even 5K resolution on some high-end displays. The more pixels the display has, the sharper and more detailed the images will be. However, it requires much more powerful hardware just to run such high resolutions.
2. Panel Technology: There are two main types of panel technologies in which monitors are manufactured with.
These are twisted nematic (TN) and in-plane switching (IPS). The former is the oldest type of LCD technology that is still being used up to this day.
It is very cost effective to produce and purchase, however, the colors that are displayed have a tendency to look distorted at certain angles. Most older monitors (or budget monitors) usually have this technology, although there are some models that use VA or P-MVA panels.
VA and P-MVA Panels offer better quality pictures as they provide better brightness at wider angles and less distortion of colors. They are also more cost effective to produce and buy.
However, they still don’t quite match the quality that you get from an IPS panel.
IPS Panels provide the best color reproduction and viewing angles out of all the types of LCD panels. This makes them the most preferred type of panels for monitors that are aimed at professionals that work with images or graphics, as well as for common users that want to have a high quality picture with consistent and minimal distortion at any angle.
However, this type of panel is usually the most expensive to manufacture and purchase.
3. Screen Size: This one is pretty obvious.
The larger the screen, the better the picture. This also means that a larger display will have a higher price tag than smaller displays.
You can choose whatever size monitor you want depending on your preferences and your budget. Just keep in mind, the larger the screen, the more expensive it will be.
4. Connectivity: Monitors these days come with different types of connectors for your computer so you can actually connect it to your PC or laptop.
The most common types are HDMI, VGA and DisplayPort. Most monitors have several of these ports on their backside (sometimes even with different variations of each type) so you can easily connect them to whatever device you want.
Make sure you get a monitor that has the type of port that your PC or laptop has so you can actually connect the two devices.
5. Extras: Most monitors nowadays have extra features such as built in speakers, headphone jacks, microphones, etc.
These are great for saving some space on your workstation as you don’t need to have separate speakers or a microphone. However, these monitors usually cost more money.
It is up to you whether you would like to spend more money on a monitor with these extra features or not.
6. Color Accuracy: This is probably the most important thing that most people don’t pay attention to.
While most monitors have a pretty good display right out of the box, the colors may look a bit off in comparison to what they are supposed to be. Manufacturers tune their monitors to have specific sets of colors so that images and photographs will look “good” on a display.
Unfortunately, most of the time, these colors are altered and don’t portray the exact shade that they should.
If you are a professional that works with images a lot or just someone who really likes accurate color displays, you will need to calibrate your monitor. If you do not do this, you will never really get the most out of your monitor.
Fortunately, this process is pretty easy if you have the right tools.
The first thing that you need to do is actually calibrate your monitor. There are plenty of tutorials online on how to calibrate your monitor using either the software that comes with it or third party software.
I won’t go too in depth about this since each tutorial is different and require different things. Once you finished calibrating your monitor however, you will need a color calibration tool to verify that the colors on your monitor are accurate.
Monitors that can display the entire sRGB color spectrum fully accurately are rare. Most of them can only cover around 70% sRGB which is why most professionals prefer to have separate monitors for their images and graphics work.
You can however calibrate your monitor to display as close to correct colors as possible.
There are plenty of color calibration tools that you can get for your computer. Many of these tools are paid but there are some free ones out there as well.
If you do decide to get one, I highly recommend you calibrate your monitor at least once every two weeks to make sure that the colors are still accurate. You never know when a monitor’s display can change for the worse over time.

BenQ GL2460HM 24-Inch LED Monitor
The BenQ is a pretty popular brand of monitors and they have tons of different models. I chose the 24-Inch LED monitor because it is pretty affordable, has a good contrast ration and it’s small enough to fit into any workstation without taking up too much space.
The monitor has decent color accuracy right out of the box but you will need to calibrate it at least once if you want to get the best colors. It has a standard 1920x1080p resolution which is good for most designers and photographers out there.
The monitor also has built in speakers that are actually pretty decent once you calibrate the volume levels. You might not even need to use your speakers anymore if you decide to get this monitor.
It isn’t anything too major though.
All in all, this is a pretty solid monitor for the price. It isn’t perfect but it gets the job done and has enough features that can help you be more productive.
Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24-Inch Monitor
The next monitor is from Dell’s UltraSharp line and is meant to be a step up from their consumer line of monitors. It has great color accuracy and a nice glossy screen that can make photos and graphics pop out.
The monitor has some built in speakers but they are pretty bad and will probably give you earache after a while. It also has a few USB ports on the side for easy access.
As for flaws, there isn’t too much to complain about. The only issues I have are with the build quality of the base.
It can feel a bit wobbly since it is made out of plastic but as long as you have it leveled, you shouldn’t have any issues with it.
Other than that, there really isn’t too much wrong with this monitor. If you want to see your photos the way they are supposed to be seen, you will need to calibrate it correctly but even then, the colors will still pop!
Apple Thunderbolt Display
Out of all the monitors in this list, this is the one you will probably hear the least about. This is mainly because it was a limited edition monitor that was only sold by Apple a few years back.
However, you can still find them on Ebay or online stores like Amazon. If you are an Apple fan and have the money to spend, this is a good investment for you.
It doesn’t come with speakers but it does have a built in camera, three USB ports and a thunderbolt connector for super fast data transfer. It is also the perfect size to fit right below your Apple desktop.
The picture quality is fantastic out of the box and the colors really makes images pop. There is very little you will need to change from the standard settings.
It might be a little pricey but if you are an Apple fan then this is a must have.
Dell UltraSharp U2713HM 27-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor
The last monitor I am going to recommend can also be found for a low price on Amazon. It is a little bigger than the other monitors being discussed here but it does have some really neat features that are worth mentioning.
This monitor has a total of six USB ports, three of which are USB 3.0.
This feature alone separates it from the other monitors. There is nothing worse than not having enough USB ports and having to decide which device you are going to use.
As for the picture quality, it is fantastic just like you would expect it to be from a Dell monitor. It has accurate colors and goes pretty bright.
It isn’t the brightest monitor but it has no issues competing with exterior light.
It does have one major flaw and that is the stand. Just like the last Dell monitor, the base is made out of plastic and can feel a bit wobbly.
You will probably want to get a monitor stand if you plan on putting this on a desk.
These are just the monitors that I have personal experience with. There are other monitors from Asus, Acer, AOC and even Samsung that are just as good but do your research before spending your money on something you aren’t familiar with.
When it comes to monitors, you usually get what you pay for. These monitors listed here are no different.
They all have high refresh rates, high resolutions and great picture quality. It all comes down to how much you want to spend and your own personal preferences.
There are a few things to keep in mind when looking for the right monitor.
Make sure the cables that come with it are long enough. Some devices come with very short cables so keep that in mind.
If you have space on your desk, get a bigger monitor, you won’t regret it!
If you have the money, get a monitor with multiple inputs such as HDMI and DVI. You never know when you will need them.
Try to get a monitor that is LED backlit. It will save you money in the long run because it uses less power and last longer.
Do your research on the refresh rate of the monitor. Most monitors are 60Hz but some go all the way up to 144Hz.
This number indicates the amount of frames per second that is displayed by the monitor. The higher this number, the better and less likely you are to experience screen tearing when gaming.
That about covers it. Remember, if you are a casual gamer, then it is not necessary for you to have a high refresh rate or super large monitor.
