Best Sunflower Seed Butter Recipe: How To Make Sunflower Seed Buttery?
Sunflower seed butter is a very popular food in many countries around the world. It is one of the most common foods in North America, Europe and Australia. The main ingredients in making sunflower seed butter are water, sunflower oil (or other vegetable oil), salt and sugar. You can add anything else that you want such as vanilla extract, lemon juice etc. Most manufacturers add these ingredients to make it taste better as well as to preserve it for a longer period.
Let us look at the steps involved in preparing sunflower seed butter:
First, you need to spread the roasted sunflower seeds on a tray or flat pan and place this in an area with good ventilation. Keep the seeds out in the open for about two days until they become dry enough to crack when you crush them slightly between your fingers. Alternatively, you can dry them in an oven at low temperature.
After drying, place the sunflower seeds in a powerful food processor and process until you get a fine powder or flour. Alternatively, you can use a rolling pin or a mortar and pestle to do this.
Add some water (or any other liquid that you prefer) along with the sunflower seed powder (or flour). Add more or less water until you get a thick but smooth paste. You can use a sieve to strain the paste if you do not want any hard pieces in the paste.
Add sunflower oil or any other vegetable oil and process again until smooth. If you want a thinner consistency, add more water and process again.
You can add sugar, salt or any other flavor that you prefer at this point. You may also add some fresh cream to get a pleasant texture and taste.
Store the sunflower seed butter in a clean, dry glass container with lid in the refrigerator.
