Netgear Nighthawk X4 AC2200 wireless network security router is one of the most popular routers available today. It was launched back in August 2015 and it comes with features such as dual band 2.4 GHz/5GHz support, remote management, parental controls, smart home integration and much more. It supports both IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity. It is priced at $199.99 and it comes with a 1 year warranty.
It is equipped with two gigabit LAN ports, one USB 3 port, one eSATA port, one Bluetooth 4.0 port, four antennas, integrated 802.11n Wi-Fi technology and other networking features like parental controls and cloud backup feature are also present in this device. Its operating system is Android 5.1 Lollipop or higher.
The Netgear Nighthawk X4 AC2200 is powered by a Quad Core 1.7 GHz ARM Cortex A53 processor, which runs at up to 450 MHz and has 8 GB RAM. It also includes built-in storage of 32 GB internal memory and microSD card slot for additional storage expansion up to 128 GB. There are three external USB 2.0 ports along with an HDMI port for connecting your TV or monitor to this device.

What are the disadvantages?
It is a bit expensive when compared to other routers available in the market. You may experience some issues with your browser as it automatically re-directs you to a sign-in screen to register the device. If you want to change the SSID (name), you should use only alphabet, numbers and characters ‘_’ and ‘-‘. Uppercase and lowercase are also accepted. It doesn’t support third party firmware.
What is the verdict?
This router comes with a 1 year limited warranty and provides reliable performance. If you are looking for an option which can handle multiple devices working at same time with ease, you can go for this product. If you have a limited budget and still want a quality product, then this may not be the best option as other alternatives are available at a cheaper price.
