Mosquitoes are among the most annoying insects that can cause severe health problems. They carry diseases such as malaria, dengue fever, yellow fever and chikungunya. Even if you don’t have any symptoms or even no symptoms at all, they still can transmit disease to your family members and friends. You may not feel sick from mosquito bites because you’re used to them but it’s always better to take precautions against mosquito bites.
In addition to being irritating, mosquitoes can also spread other infections like West Nile virus, Zika virus and Dengue fever. Mosquitoes are known to lay eggs inside human body parts such as the eyes, nose and mouth. These larvae hatch into adult mosquitoes which then bite humans. If bitten by a mosquito, you will usually experience pain in the area where it bit you.
You might also experience fever, headache, muscle aches and redness. There is no cure for mosquito bites so it’s important to take preventative measures.
The following list contains some of the best mosquito bite relievers available in the market today:
1) Acetaminophen (Tylenol): Acetaminophen is one of the most popular over-the-counter medications used to treat many types of illnesses including headaches, nausea and vomiting.
It is also used to relieve fever, sore throat, pain and general aches and pains. Acetaminophen can be found individually or in combination with drugs like ibuprofen for added relief.
2) Anti-itch creams: Anti-itch creams are most commonly used to treat itching from allergic reactions, poison ivy, insect bites and other itchy skin conditions.
