LED Headlights For Projector HID’s: What Are They?
Projector headlights are a popular choice among car enthusiasts because they offer high visibility and great lighting effects. However, these lights do not provide much light output compared to traditional incandescent or compact fluorescent (CFL) bulbs. A typical projector bulb produces around 1/3 watt of power, which is only enough to illuminate the area around it for about one foot. If you want to make your projectors shine like their big brothers from the past, then you need to use a brighter source of light.
The answer is LEDs! These little chips produce up to 10 times more lumens than regular incandescents and CFLs. You may have seen them used in some high end TVs, but they’re starting to become widely available for home entertainment devices such as DVD players and Blu-ray players.
While there are many different types of LEDs out there, most projects come with two main options:
1. Xenon Pro Led Bulbs : These are the brightest led bulbs on the market today.
They emit over 1000 lumens and are capable of producing very good lighting effects even at low levels. They’re perfect for projectors since they produce a wide beam pattern and don’t require any additional lensing equipment to work properly.
2. Single LED: These are slightly dimmer than Xenon Pro LEDs.
They can still produce about 500 lumens of light and are a good choice if you want to create a sharp cutoff between the foreground and background.
Some people wonder if there is any difference between daytime and warm white bulbs. The answer is no. These are just marketing labels used to distinguish one type of bulb from another.
Both types offer the same intensity of light and both are available in either xenon pro or single LED designs.
What Are The Best LED Headlight Conversion Kit?
Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s talk about the different options for headlight conversion kits. When choosing a kit keep in mind that brighter does not necessarily mean better. You should get the right amount of light to fully illuminate the road without blinding oncoming traffic.
The first option is the single bulb LED headlight kit. This includes everything you need to replace your old incandescent bulb with a bright LED bulb. These kits are great if you want a sharp cutoff between the foreground and background, but they are less suitable for projectors since they create a wide beam pattern.
These kits come in both xenon pro and single LED varieties. Xenon Pro kits are designed to be used in reflector headlights, while single LEDs are made for projectors. One of the main benefits of xenon pro bulbs is that they can produce up to 500 lumens of light, which is more than enough to light up the road at night.
Single LED bulbs are much brighter and can produce up to 5,000 lumens, but they are less suitable for reflector headlight housing since they create a very wide beam pattern.
