Ketogenic Diet Book – Essential Guide To Living The Ketosis Lifestyle
The ketogenic diet is one of the most effective ways to lose weight without starving yourself or eating too much food. You can follow it for long periods of time if you are willing to put up with some unpleasant side effects such as nausea, headaches, dizziness and fatigue.
However, if you want to get rid of these symptoms quickly then the keto diet may not be for you.
If you have been following a low carb diet, but want to try out the ketogenic diet, then this is the best place to start. There are many benefits of the ketogenic diet which include better health, less hunger and improved mental clarity.
The keto diet works because it causes your body to burn fat instead of sugar (carbohydrates) for energy.
There are several different types of diets that you can choose from when trying out the ketogenic diet. Some of them are very restrictive while others allow for a wide variety of foods.
These diets are called intermittent fasting, calorie restriction, high fat diet and paleolithic diet.
A ketogenic diet consists of three main components:
1) A high protein/low carbohydrate ratio (30% to 70%) which results in burning up all the stored body fat.
This type of diet is known as the ketogenic diet. When the body’s carbohydrate stores are depleted it is then forced to burn fat for energy.
2) A defined set amount of calories (Calorie restriction) which puts the body into a state of “starvation” which again causes the body to burn up fat instead of carbohydrates.
3) A specific type of exercise that uses up large amounts of glycogen, the stored carbohydrate in your muscle tissue.
