What are the most popular face wash? What are the most common side effects from using them? Which one is better for sensitive skin? How do they work? What is their effect on your body’s pH level? Are there any other types of face wash or soap that could be used instead of these ones for sensitive skin?
These questions have been asked many times before. And the answers are always the same: none at all; no matter what kind of face wash or soap you use, it will not make any difference whatsoever if you have sensitive skin or not. But then again, neither will using anything else.
So how does one explain such things? Is it because our minds are too limited to comprehend something so complex? Or is it due to lack of education?
The answer is probably both. The reason why we cannot understand something so complicated is that we do not want to believe it. We prefer to think that everything works out just fine and that there must be some sort of magic involved in order for us to live our lives without problems. However, when faced with a problem which seems impossible to solve, we tend to give up and say “I don’t know” rather than trying to figure out the solution ourselves. This is our limitation as a race, and there is nothing we can do about it.
However, such generalizations do not make much sense when applied to science. If anything, ignorance should make us want to learn more. After all, we are still learning new things about this world every day.
Who is to say we will not discover something new about the human body and how to cure it of certain conditions in the future?
Perhaps there is something that we have overlooked. Perhaps somewhere within the human race, there is a group of people who are trying to find that ‘something’. And perhaps they are closer than we think.
This is not mere speculation; this is fact. There is a group which has been trying to unlock the mysteries of the human body for quite some time now. And to great success, I might add. They call themselves the “Church”.
The origins of this group can be traced all the way back to the time before the Dark War. That was when they were first founded, although they were known by a different name back then (the Church of Bionicism). However, it wasn’t until the rise of Bestien technology that they decided to change their name to what we know of today. Despite the negative connotation associated with the word “church”, the head leaders insist on keeping it for historical purposes.
From what I have read in my history books, the Church used to hold a lot more power and influence in the past. They were even able to convince the then-president of Naleen to declare them as the only religion allowed within the country’s borders (I’m not exactly sure when this took place, but I think it was before the Dark War. My history is a bit rusty). Of course, such declarations only last for so long.
With the Dark War coming about, not to mention the fall of the old United States of America and other governments around the world, religion in general took a back seat to survival. By the time Bestien creatures began popping up left and right, people were much too concerned with their own lives to worry about what they believed in. And the Church was no different in this respect.
After the Dark War, the Church was reduced to nothing more than a relic of the past. Even the Bestia population had little use for ‘god’ anymore (or whatever it is they worship). As far as I know, there are no official Bestien churches (although I wonder if they even need them. I’ve heard some of the more ‘religious’ types speak as if the creatures are playing some sort of role designed by a higher being).
In fact, I think the Church was all but forgotten until the Retlad HQ was built. It was then that the Church managed to gain a few members.
This might seem strange at first, given that the HQ was built to be a purely military institution with no religious connections what so ever, but there is a simple explanation. The Church has found a new, and somewhat surprising, source of converts: military personal. Many soldiers in the Retlad army have become believers. This sort of thinking is probably encouraged (at least to some degree) within the army.
Most people with any sort of strong faith would not be content with simply sitting behind a desk. They want to be out there, fighting the good fight. It’s also easier to find purpose in life when you’ve got a group of like-minded individuals all sharing the same goals and values. This is why so many of them have turned to religion.
The Church has benefited from this trend. The population of the Church is now greater than it has been in years. In fact, they’ve even managed to establish a small church in the city of Retlad itself.
So that’s a brief history of the Church. I don’t know too much about religion, being more of a scientist at heart (something else I got from my parents) so I don’t know if what they preach is true or not. Despite this fact, I do find myself almost attracted to some of the ideas ingrained in the Church, possibly due to my own southern upbringing. Mom was very religious.
She would have loved the Church.
I can only hope she’s safe and one day I’ll be able to see her again.
The Church has officially decided to send me to the borders of the Swadian Confederacy! This is really happening! Tomorrow I will be leaving the northern reaches of Retlad and heading to who knows where.
So much has happened these past few months, yet I still don’t feel ready for this. I’ve been trying to keep my mind focused on my training, but a part of me is still worried.
What if I freeze up when things get bad? What if someone bigger and stronger is trying to kill me? What if there’s nothing out there after I die?
So many what ifs…
I know I have to get my head in the game. Fear is not an option. I have been given a great honor and a divine duty. I will do great things and help reduce the amount of sin going on in this world!
Tomorrow I leave for the Swadian border. Our numbers are being restricted for now, only sending a few to see how easily the Swadian armies will be to defeat. Shouldn’t be too hard, I’ve heard the current Swadia is a complete slob and its armies aren’t anything impressive.
However it still will take a few months before we make a full scale attack so for now I’ll have time to relax in the Fort and get used to the area.
Well I’m going to go indulge in a little sin… I mean alcohol. The local tavern has been recommended to me and I’m in the mood for something new.
Wish me luck!
You step up to the bar and order the first drink that comes to mind. You don’t usually go for sweet drinks, but the bartender highly recommends it. It’s pretty bad. You make a sour face and try not to spit it out.
So what’s a girl like you doing in a place like this?”
a rough voice says.
