Best Glow Sticks For Survival

The following are some of the most popular types of glow sticks used in survival situations. These are all available at your local hardware store or online. You may want to consider getting one of these if you plan on camping out during a disaster situation.

They’re not going to last forever, but they’ll do for now!

1. Lighter

A lighter is probably the easiest to make and use. All you need is a small piece of metal (like a penlight) and some matches. A good quality lighter will burn for hours without needing any fuel or electricity, so it’s great for lighting up your way through the night!

You could even try making one out of cardboard, which would definitely be less expensive than buying one from a commercial source.

2. Flashlight

Flashlights have been around since the dawn of civilization. They’re very handy tools when it comes to keeping yourself safe and warm in cold weather. If you’ve ever gone camping, then you know how useful they can be for finding firewood and cooking food.

Some flashlights come with batteries, but others don’t – this is where a rechargeable flashlight like the Fenix TK30 or the Energizer Batteries AAA are invaluable!

3. Glow Sticks

Glow sticks have been around for quite some time now. While there are a few different types of glow sticks, the ones that you’re going to be looking for during an APOC event are the long lasting ones. A lot of these can last a whole twelve hours or more, which is more than enough time for you to find a safe place to spend the night in.

The problem with glow sticks is that they can be fairly expensive and they can break easily. However, if you’re looking for a non-battery alternative that won’t cost you a fortune, then glow sticks are definitely something that you should look into.

4. Hand Warmers

A lot of people in northern states use hand warmers during the winter months because they’re easy to use and very effective at keeping your hands toasty warm. If you’re someone who lives in a cold environment, then you’ll definitely want to stock up on a supply of hand warmers before the next APOC event occurs.

5. Strobe Lights

Strobe lights are something that most people won’t think to use during an APOC event. While they have limited battery life (usually between 25,000 and 50,000 flashes) they can be effective non-lethal self-defense tools that can stun an attacker for several minutes. This gives you time to get away or mount an effective counter-attack against anyone who is trying to do you harm.

6. The Sun!

If you have a solar powered backpack, then you’ve already got something that will keep you warm at night. These things are very expensive and not something that most people can afford. However, if you’ve got one then you’re set for life.

Just make sure that you charge it up on a regular basis.

7. The Stars!

If you know how to identify the North Star during the day, then you’ll always be able to find your way home at night. This is known as the Pointers (as in “pointers to the north”) and can help people navigate towards the North Star during the day and night.

Learning these simple techniques will help keep you safe during an APOC event. However, it is always best to be with a group of people whenever possible. These types of events are called “Sharing” for a reason and learning how to get along with other people is an important life lesson that everyone should learn at some point in their lives.

So you’ve stocked up on tools and supplies and you’re ready to go out there and survive the coming apocalypse on your own! Congratulations!
