Dog Grooming Table: What Is A Dog Grooming Table?
A dog grooming table is a large piece of furniture designed specifically for your furry friend to relax while they enjoy their time with you. These are usually made from wood or metal and have various features such as chairs, beds, etc. They come in many styles and designs; some are functional, others look pretty and others just plain weird. Some of them even include a TV! You will probably see different types of dog grooming tables at home, but there are only two common ones:
The first type is the one that I am going to talk about today – a dog grooming table. There are several kinds of these, including those with a television screen and those without. If you want to make sure you get the right kind for your needs, it’s always better if you consult someone who actually uses one before buying it.
There are other types of dog grooming tables out there, too. For example, you might need a dog grooming table that is designed to be used by small dogs (under 20 pounds) or larger breeds like Great Danes and German Shepherds. Another option would be one that is suitable for puppies under 8 weeks old or older dogs up to 50 lbs.
There are also dog grooming tables available in different colors and patterns.
What Are Some Of The Features That Dog Grooming Tables Have?
Dog grooming tables are great because they allow you to take advantage of your dog’s full body when giving it a bath. Since the bottom half of the body is elevated, it gives easier access to their back legs and belly. It also helps prevent back strain when you have to bend down every now and then. The best dog grooming tables even have a large surface area so you can easily spread out all of the supplies you need without having to worry about them falling off or getting wet.
If you don’t have a dog grooming table, you’ll have to do all of this on the floor which can get a little messy. With a table like this, it’s easy to put down multiple towels and keep everything in one place.
What Are Some Of The Risks?
The only major risk that you’re going to run into is the fact that your pet might not like it at all. Since these are very large and take up a lot of space in your home, some dogs (and cats) won’t feel comfortable on or even near them. If this is the case, you can try raising it up an inch or two from the ground by stacking something soft underneath (like pillows).
What Should I Look For When Buying A Dog Grooming Table?
When you’re buying a dog grooming table, you really just need to consider the size and quality of it. It doesn’t matter if it has a bunch of bells and whistles if your pet won’t get on it. Other than that, look for one that is sturdy, built to last and has a good reputation.
Here are some popular Dog Grooming Tables:
1. TaoTronics Dog Grooming Table
The first table on our list is the TaoTronics Dog Grooming Table. As you can tell from the image, this one is actually just a regular table with an elevated leg and additional flooring underneath to make room for your furry friend. This one has a nice wooden finish and comes in multiple sizes: Medium, Large and Extra-Large.
The medium size is ideal for pets up to 15-25 pounds, the large is best for dogs up to 40-70 pounds and the extra-large is designed for those up to 100 pounds. As far as dimensions, all three sizes are similar: the medium is 33.5″ x 21.2″, the large is 42″ x 25.6″ and the extra large is 50.8″ x 30″.
The main body of this table is made from solid wood (Medium density fiberboard) and the legs are designed to be extra sturdy. The surface area of this thing is perfect for grooming, bathing, feeding and much more. The legs can be easily adjusted to fit on different surfaces and the top portion is big enough for two people to stand on it (or one adult and one child).
Since the entire table is elevated and does not require any assembly, it can be moved around very easily. It also prevents any mess from happening on the floor below it. The entire top surface is waterproof so this is great for messy dogs or those that like to lick themselves.
Pros: Great for medium to large dogs, easy to clean, waterproof, sturdy legs, affordable.
Bottom Line: A great table for the price and larger sized dogs. The only thing we don’t like is the fact that smaller dogs cannot use it, since it’s really meant for medium to large canines.
2. Master Grooming Tools Grooming Table
The second table on our list is the Grooming Table by Master Grooming Tools. The legs on this one can be adjusted to fit on different flooring types and it’s a bit bigger than the one listed above. This one also comes in two sizes: Medium and Large.
The medium size is ideal for pets up to 55 pounds and the large is designed for dogs up to 165 pounds.
