The best cycling shorts for women are not only comfortable but they also offer protection from the sun and rain. There are many different types of cycling shorts available in the market today.
You will find them all in various colors, styles, materials and sizes. Some of these biking shorts have been designed with comfort in mind while others were made to protect your legs from nasty weather conditions or other hazards. Regardless of what type of cycling shorts you choose, it is always good to make sure that they fit properly. If they don’t, then your ride could become very uncomfortable indeed!
When shopping for the best cycling shorts for women, there are several factors to consider:
How much do you want to spend?
What kind of riding do you like to engage in?
Do you prefer a short or a regular length?
Are you looking for something that is breathable or waterproof?
Before making any purchase, here are some things to keep in mind:
What kind of biking do you enjoy doing?
Short rides are great if you’re just getting into cycling. Longer rides might be better suited for someone who enjoys longer distances. A short ride would probably suit someone who likes to cycle around town.
What is most comfortable to you?
If padded shorts are more comfortable to you, then by all means go for them. As long as you are comfortable while you are on your ride, that is the main thing. Some people just prefer the feel of regular biking shorts though, so don’t feel that you have to go with padded ones if you don’t want to.
What is your budget?
Of course this depends on how much you want to spend. Different types of shorts can range from $30 to $200 or more! It really just depends on what you want.
Do you want something that is waterproof or weather resistant?
If you live some place that gets a lot of rain, then a waterproof pair of biking shorts might be more useful to you than other types. But if you don’t get a lot of rain, then it isn’t necessary to spend the money on them.
Do you want something to protect you from the sun?
If you are going to be out during the day, it would be a good idea to have something that protects your legs from the sun. You can also get sunblock to put on before you go out, but it might not be as effective as having actual physical protection from the sun.
Safety and visibility are crucial when riding your bike in traffic. Even if you are careful, there is the possibility of an accident happening.
Make sure that you have reflectors or bright colored clothing with you when you go out. If possible, wear a helmet and any other protection gear. Also, never ride your bike at night; not only is it illegal in most places, but it is very dangerous also. You won’t be able to see in the dark and you probably won’t be able to see other people or vehicles well either.
Do a little test run before going on a long trip. Not only will this give you an idea of how your body will react to the physical activity, but it will also ensure that you have everything that you need such as water bottles, cell phone, etc.
It would be a shame to get stranded somewhere because you didn’t do a test run!

Don’t get so caught up in it that it starts putting a damper on your life, but at the same time don’t hold back or you will miss out on something that could have been really great for you.
