BRITA Water Filter Pitcher: What Is A Brita Water Filter Pitcher?

Brita water filter pitcher is a type of glass container used to purify drinking water. These containers are usually made from glass or plastic and have a small hole at one end. When the contents of the bottle are poured into the small opening, it filters out impurities such as bacteria, viruses, parasites and other microorganisms that may cause illness if ingested or inhaled.

The bottles are available in different sizes and shapes. They come in various colors including black, blue, green, red, white and yellow. Some brands include Brita, Pur & Bickel.

You can buy them online or at your local supermarket. There are many advantages of using a Brita water filter pitcher over other types of bottled water filters like those sold by Nestle or Coca Cola Co., which use reverse osmosis technology to remove contaminants from tap water. Reverse osmosis filters remove only harmful substances while Brita water filter pitchers do not filter out any contaminant.

There are several disadvantages of using a Brita water filter pitcher. One disadvantage is that they don’t provide enough filtration power to treat all the water you drink. Another drawback is that you need to keep replacing these bottles every six months because they break down after about two years of regular use.

Finally, they do not have a very strong seal around the edge of the lid, so if you drop it on the floor or even just knock it over, the water can splash out and all over your kitchen floor.

BRITA Everyday Water Filter Pitcher: Quality Of The Water Filtered

One of the advantages of using a Brita water filter pitcher is that it filters out many contaminants in your drinking water. It is a slow process, but it definitely gets rid of harmful substances like lead and chlorine. It doesn’t take out all of the chlorine, but it takes out enough to make the water taste better and be safer for you to consume.

A disadvantage of using a Brita water filter pitcher is that it does not take out dissolved solids. If you do not already know, dissolved solids are materials that dissolve in water. These can cause health issues if the level is too high or if you consume them over a long period of time.

The following metals can cause health issues for humans: magnesium, manganese, iron, copper, and zinc.

It is important to note that while the Brita pitcher removes most of these, it does not remove enough to be considered safe. It is not meant to be a permanent solution for getting clean drinking water; it is just a temporary fix for when you are in a bind.

BRITA Everyday Water Filter Pitcher: How To Fill The Pitcher With Water

The process of filling the pitcher with tap water is very easy. All you have to do is remove the lid and fill it up to the fill line. Make sure you do not overfill it because this can cause leaking and make a big mess.

Once you have filled it up to the fill line, wipe away any excess water that may be dripping off the side. Then replace the lid and set it somewhere where it can sit for 24 hours so that the carbon in the filter can seep into the water.

BRITA Everyday Water Filter Pitcher: How To Replace The Filters

The pitcher comes with two filters. One of the filters is white and the other is a dark charcoal color. There is a groove on the side of the pitcher that these filters sit in.

It is very easy to slide out the old filters and replace them with new ones. It is a good idea to change them every 2 months or 40 gallons, whichever comes first.

Using the pitcher to get your daily water intake is very easy as well. The lid has a spout that you can drink out of. You may want to refrigerate the water first because it comes out of the tap fairly warm.

You can also fill up a glass or bottle from the spout. Just remember, the water is coming straight from the faucet so you may want to add ice to it as well.

How Does The Brita Everyday Water Pitcher Compare To Other Pitchers?

There are many water filter pitchers on the market today that claim to get rid of harmful materials such as lead and chlorine in your drinking water, but do they work?

The short answer is yes, they do work, but some work better than others. One of the biggest factors on how well a filter works is the amount of time the water sits in the filter. The longer the water sits in the filter, the more contaminants it gets rid of. Some filters only require you to fill them up once while others require you to fill them up several times. Along with this, some filters can hold more water than others.

The pitcher that we have selected is one of the more average ones on the market. It does require you to fill it up more than once and it does not hold a lot of water at one time either. It is important to keep in mind that the more water the filter holds, the more water you have to carry when you are out hiking or camping.

Weigh the pros and cons for what you need.

The other main factor when comparing water filters is how long do the filters last. The BRITA Everyday pitcher comes with two filters and these filters will last you for 40 gallons of water OR 2 months. This is about average for filters and should be more than enough for most situations.

BRITA Everyday Water Pitcher: What We Didn’t Like

There really isn’t much not to like about the BRITA Everyday Water Pitcher as far as functionality goes because it works very well and is very easy to use. The only thing that some people may not like is the size of the pitcher. At 10.2 inches high, 5.5 inches wide and 6.5 inches deep, it is a pretty big container to be carrying around.

In addition to this, it also holds less water than most other filters on the market. However, this is more of a personal preference as some people may like having to refill it less often.

BRITA Everyday Water Pitcher: Overall Thoughts

While the BRITA Everyday Water Pitcher isn’t perfect for everyone, it does have a lot to offer. It is very easy to use, has filters that will last a long time and saves you money on bottled water purchases. The only real downsides are the size and lack of capacity.

Where The BRITA Everyday Water Pitcher Falls Short

Best BRITA Water Filter Pitchers - from our website

As far as pitcher filters go, the BRITA Everyday Water Pitcher is one of the better ones on the market. It gets rid of the chlorine taste and odor from the tap water very effectively. It does not use a lot of space so it can easily fit in your refrigerator.

It is also reasonably priced so it won’t break the bank to purchase one.

However, it does have a couple of flaws that you should be aware of before making your purchase. It doesn’t hold a lot of water, which means you will have to refill it fairly often. This may not be an issue for some people as it will remind you to drink more water throughout the day.

The other issue is that it is not BPA-free like the MAVEA 1001953 Water Filter Pitcher. While it may not leach BPA into your water, plasticizers are another issue and have been know to leach into food and water products. So if these plasticizers end up in your water, you are basically drinking them as well.

The Verdict

If you are looking for a pitcher filter that is moderately priced, holds a reasonable amount of water, and gets rid of the chlorine taste and odor from your tap water then the BRITA Everyday Water Pitcher is worth considering.

There are some other good options out there, so keep looking until you find one that meets your specific needs.
