Best ATV Tires – What are they?

ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles) are vehicles designed for off-road travel. They come in many shapes and sizes and have been used by people all over the world since their invention. There are different types of ATVs, such as dirt bikes, motorbikes, mopeds, motorcycles and even cars. All these ATVs have one thing in common: they are all powered by four wheels.

The main purpose of ATV tires is to provide traction when going down steep slopes or other uneven surfaces. These tires are usually made from rubber compounds which provide good grip on rough ground, but not so much on smooth ones. Some ATV tires are specially developed for off-roading purposes. For example, some ATV tires are designed to withstand the extreme heat and cold conditions found in deserts, mountains and other harsh environments.

At first sight it may seem like there is no difference between ATV tires and regular motorcycle tires. However, a closer look reveals that there are some subtle differences. While regular tires have a hard time moving on gravel or mud, an ATV tire is designed to move even in these conditions.

Best ATV Tires for Different Conditions

There are some factors which you need to consider before choosing the best ATV tires. The first thing you need to think about is the type of terrain on which you are going to use your vehicle. For example, if you are going to use your ATV on rocky surfaces, then you should go for the best ATV tires which have a high thread count and a high rim protection. On the other hand, if you want to go through mud and sand, then you should go for an ATV tire with a strong grip. Also, keep in mind that there are certain types of ATV tires which are not suitable for going down long slides.

These tires will make your vehicle slide out of control and you might lose control over the vehicle.

How to Pick the Best ATV Tires

Choose the Right Size

The first step is to measure the size of your current tires. This will ensure that you purchase a tire which has a similar diameter and width as your original tires. If you have an older model of ATV you can find the size in the manual that came with it. If you have a newer model, you can easily find the diameter and width of your tires by following these steps:

Put your vehicle on a flat surface. You can, for example, put it on top of a large piece of cardboard.

Get a measuring tape and find out the diameter and width of each tire. Write the numbers down.

There are two main categories of tires: radial and bias ply. Bi-directional tires are also popular, but not as much as the other two. Bi-directional tires have an equal amount of “beads” on the inside and outside of the tire. Radial and bias ply tires have more “beads” on one side than the other. Most manufacturers prefer radial tires, but some still use bias ply tires.

Bias ply tires are more durable and can withstand more weight. They can also better handle uneven surfaces, such as dirt roads and rocky hillsides. However, they are less efficient on the highway. On the other hand, radial tires are better for paved roads, but are not as durable or as good at handling uneven terrain.

What size ATV tires do I need?

Measuring your rims is the best way of finding out what size tires you need. To do this, follow these steps:

Use a ruler to measure the circumference of your rim (write this measurement down). Measure the width of your rim (write this measurement down). Multiply the circumference by 3.5 and write this number down (this gives you the diameter of your tire). Multiply the width by 2 and write this number down (this gives you the width of your tire).

Now use our tire selector on the left to find out what your options are.

What if I don’t know the size of my tires?

If you have an older model of ATV, you might not have access to this information. However, there are a few ways in which you can work out the size. The first way is to simply look at the tires. The tires will have a number written on them which will be in the format of 35-12. The first number (35) refers to the width of the tire in millimeters. The second number (12) refers to the diameter of the tire in inches. You can also measure your rims using a ruler and then use this formula: T = D x 3.5, where T is the tire diameter in inches and D is the rim diameter in inches.

Where can I dispose of old tires?

Once you have replaced your tires, you will have two tires left over. There are a few places that you can take your old tires to be disposed of. One option is to take them to a store that sells tires (such as Walmart or Target). They often have a area behind the store where you can leave your old tires for disposal. If this is not an option, call you local sanitation department and ask them where you can take your tires. If you search online, you should also be able to find various centers that will dispose of your tires.

How do I return my tires?

When you are ready to return your tires, all you need to do is package them up safely and drop them off at your local UPS store. You can also find the nearest UPS store to you by clicking here. When you drop the package off, make sure to ask when the last date is that they will accept your package.
