Best All-In-One Washers and Dryers: Stackable Washer & Dryer?
The Stackable Washer & Dryer (STAD) is a new product category introduced by LG Electronics. STAD was developed with the aim of improving efficiency and reducing energy consumption in home appliances. A STAD appliance is comprised of multiple units which are stacked together to provide greater space saving and reduced weight compared to traditional single unit appliances.
STAD products are designed to be used in combination with each other. They have been specifically engineered so they will not interfere or block one another’s operation. For example, a washing machine may be connected to a drying rack but it is still capable of using the power from both units simultaneously. Another example would be a clothes dryer which could connect to a tumble drier but it will not affect its ability to use the electricity from either unit independently.
LG Electronics claims that their STAD products offer a significant reduction in energy consumption when compared to conventional models. According to LG, the average American family uses around 10,000 kWh per year while consumers using the latest generation of STAD appliances will save up to 30% on their energy bills.
There are many advantages of stacking washer/dryer units together.
Because these appliances are designed to be used together, they can share many of the same parts. This means that individual units are smaller and lighter making them more energy efficient to produce, purchase and move into your home. As well as being more energy efficient, STAD products take up less space and offer a high level of design flexibility which allows manufacturers to provide the exact size and number of appliances to suit your particular needs.
Another advantage of stacking washer dryer units together is that the appliance is more efficient as it uses less power and water which results in lower energy bills and a reduction in CO2 emissions.
These units can be stacked on top of one another so they take up less space than traditional appliances. This makes them ideal for homes with limited space.
Washer dryer units can be stacked in a variety of ways so you can choose the design and layout which best suits your home. For example, you could place a washer dryer combination on top of an existing washer dryer unit or even stack two units side by side if you want to conserve floor space.
Most manufacturers now provide an integrated pump system which recycles the water from a washing machine if you place it on top of a drier.
